Return to the Alamo This lesson is not just a lesson of Texas history. It can be used to emphasize other key themes. Such as even the greatest of states, nations, or countries can be affected by war. Not all battles waged can be won. It is important to learn from our mistakes so that history is not doomed to repeat itself. This interdisciplinary lesson is organized in five different activities known as missions. It involves two classes for presentation of final products and one for the debate. Students will be grouped heterogeneously in groups of four. Each group is responsible for only one activity. The teacher could list missions on strips of paper. Missions would be assigned by having a member of each group draw one of the missions. Students would have to work on their missions either at a computer lab with Internet access or in the classroom.
